New for 2016, Modified Action Easter is always popular with our modifiers as winter brings new modifications and Easter is the first time to see if its faster!!!
We have the Mini Showdown is an evolution of the Mini vs Beetle Shootout. Over the recent years, Minis have continued to be a growing scene and with the injection of more enthusiasts with the newer BMW Minis, the Beetles were totally outnumbered.
To celebrate the diversity of the plucky Mini we are going to award 3 trophies:
Fastest A series for the purest, fastest BMW for the modernists, fastest overall will go to the fastest mini of the day which includes engine transplants such as Honda, V8, bike engines, anything goes.
Ultimate RWYB
We separate the cars in to different classes so you guys can have a little competition to be the fastest in the class with trophies awarded. We will also have our infamous 0-60mph timing equipment so you can get the facts, compare them on our lists of standard cars, which is available in our timing ticket office.
Straightliners
The UKs largest drag bike series, with entry’s up to 100 with a vast variety of classic bikes, street fighter style, and stretched 8 second drag bikes, if you’re a fan of two wheels then this will be right up your street.
There are no racing rounds just RWYB so loads of track time available.

Monday 28th March Easter Nationals
The Start of the racing!! Time to see if the winter mods have worked and given the edge as hoped and a new battle for the championships start.
American Super Stock,
Europe’s biggest all American car field with there first round fielding on average 30 cars. Expect it to be loud, colourful and fast as these 2ton cars do what they do best.
JDM-DRC
Japanese cars have firmly established them as serious drag racing vehicles, with a wide variety of FWD cars fighting science to run incredible times, 4WD Rally cars, and RWD super cars.
PRO FWD
For any thing FWD going all out to win, Japanese cars, euro hatchbacks whatever goes to be the fastest whilst fighting the front wheels.
Volks Stock,
Any thing VW, Audi group, including Air cooled classics, purpose built the drag racing cars, as well as modern water cooled VW Audis and Porsche.
NSCC
Street Legal, first to the finish wins, the rule is any thing goes but it has to be street legal, modern hatchbacks, classic cars and unbelievable 8 second monsters.
Super Cup
The fastest cars on site, first to the finish wins, all out and flat out!!! In 2015 there were 6 cars regularly running 8 second quarters, one or two cars pushing to beat the track record for a door car which stands at 8.1.
Sportsman ET
Any thing 12.00 or slower, one of the most popular and largest classes with entry’s up in the 30s cars with cars from ASS, JDM-DRC, PRO FWD, Volks Stock and NSCC all mixed together.
Pro ET
Anything 11.99 or faster, the fastest cars on site together racing in the bracket class similar to Super Cup however going to fast could cost a car the win, consistency is the key. Great watching a 8 second monster sit on the startline as a 11sec car gets half way down the track, to then chase it down and get past it on the last few metres of the track, won and lost on the start.
Run What You’ve Brung
In between all those racing classes there is plenty of time to put your vehicle down the track to see how fast it is, and then try to beat your time on every pass, warning very addictive especially if you know your pb wasn’t a perfect run yet you still cant seem to beat it. Remember there is plenty of track time available from 9.30am to 11am and between 4pm and 6pm, as its not part of the Ultimate RWYB you can race your mate if there set up is different. Please note between 11am and 3pm there are a lot of cars to go down the track so RWYB sessions will be stretched to 1 per hour.

We at have been liaising with the Tour De Yorkshire and they assure us that “road closures will not be too disruptive as most will be on a rolling basis” this means instead of long road closures like at the Tour De France there will be a rolling road block.
Please be sure to forward plan your routes, to avoid any disruption.

3rd July Sunday Street Racer Championship
The 39th year of this iconic race.
To enter all you need is a street legal car in full street legal trim (no slicks) and a competition license.
We also welcome Passion Ford as we host the growing Ford Thrash, this event is set to be come a title event on the 2016 calendar, there will be a huge variety of Fords on track from Old Skool to the new STs. Trophies awarded to the fastest Ford on the day as well as Shown n Shine. Who knows may be the 2015 Street racer champion is a Ford!!!
We will be hosting 2 one of races for the non legal cars Big Bracket and Ultimate Race Cars, this will be an excellent opportunity for cars that will never normally compete against each other.
RWYB
Due to there being no racing rounds there will be loads of track time available to put your vehicle down the track to see how fast it is, and then try to beat your time on every pass, warning very addictive especially if you know your pb wasn’t a perfect run yet you still cant seem to beat it. 28th 29th August Hot Rod Reunion
Over the last few years this event has grown not only as the north’s most popular drag racing event but as one of the UKs most popular event with entries coming in from far and wide to take part in this growing event.
We also have the highest entries of all our race classes as this is the event every one wants to be at!!
We have two rounds of American Super Stock, Europe’s largest all-American car drag racing series so if you’re a Mopar nut this is perfect for you. We will also have a selection of some of the UK’s nostalgia drag cars taking to the strip, more details to follow.
Two rounds of NSCC, Street Legal, first to the finish wins, the rule is any thing goes but it has to be street legal, modern hatchbacks, classic cars and unbelievable 8 second monsters.
On Sunday only we will have our Show and Shine, the owners of some of the finest hot rods, customs and classics from all over the UK will be there to present their vehicle, this event has over 100 vehicles entered, and will be again scrutinised by the people from Aqua Detailing.
We also welcome the NSA, the classic drag bikes fitting in perfectly with the nostalgic feel of the event.
Sunday evening we will hold our annual Cacklefest, where the race cars from the pits park up out on the track and give us 10 seconds of noise. The sound of over 50 V8s all revving their engines at once is truly awesome. Continuing the entertainment into the Sunday night, we have excellent live music.
Voodoo Tuesday Burlesque will be there on Sunday again, an excellent chance to have your photo with her as she walks about or if you have a car in the Show n Shine she can pose with your pride and joy. We did this last year and it was very popular. And then in the evening in between sets of music Voodoo Tuesday will be giving campers a thrill with two performances.
They will also be some passes from some of the UKs most famous nostalgic cars and Julian Webs Split Second jet dragster. If you have never seen a jet car in action you need to see this, huge 30ft flames, the noise!! Imagine the loudest speaker at a concert and triple it, the thumps of the afterburner going straight though you. Ear protection is a must!!! It is very hard to film a jet car and have both fingers in your ears.
And the return of Robin Reeds Nitro powered Daimler dragster, a true nostalgic car. And don’t let the 2.8ltr car lower you in to a false sense of security as this will be the loudest vehicle and fastest thing on track. Robin has a grudge to settle with York he wants to do a 6 second pass!! Two years ago he ran 7.2 with us so who knows he might just do it. One thing is for sure it will be awesome watching him try!!!
Also on Sunday will be JDM-DRC, PRO FWD and ultimate RWYB.
