The Northern Drag Racing Championship runs two bracket series, Pro and Sportsman ET, the latter having a 12.00 second cut off.
Pro ET can feature anything from a front engine dragster to a massively powerful taxed and tested Wyllis pick-up, or a Ford Capri with a Ford V8 running low-10-second high 9 second passes.
Sportsman ET is the bracket series for 12.00 second and slower cars. Bracket racing handicaps the faster car, allowing the slower car to leave sooner. The theory being that both cars will cross the finish line at the same time. But it doesn't usually work out so simple! Cutting good reaction times, 'Sand Bagging' your 'dial-in' time ...it all starts to get more interesting as competitors develop their racing skills.
